Your 2022 BHNA Officers had their first quarterly meeting in the last week of January 2022.
Here's some updates from your Board!
Treasurer Update: Review of BHNA account
Mini-Grant Application: We should find out by the end of this week if we got the grant for the neighborhood signage. We passed the "application completeness" review, and now it's going to judging. The biggest issue will be ownership and ability to build on the land at the neighborhood entrances.
Neighborhood Watch / TPD: We have been working with them to: ......Elevate the out streetlight at Rome and Kathleen (It's fixed!) ......I attended last month's Police Chief Candidate Community Forum to hear from new candidates .......We can request hosting a "Front Porch Roll Call" (meet n' greet / Q&A) in the neighborhood if anyone would like to do that before it gets too hot? ........Keep checking your mail daily--you can sign up for "Informed Delivery" which will help you know what's on its way each day.
Yard Sale: The neighborhood Yard Sale was great yesterday!... thanks to everyone who helped get the word out and participate!
First Sunday Walks: The next one is TODAY, 6 FEB at 5:30 PM!
Committee Review: Our committees include: .......Beautification Committee: Lee and Michelle signed up to participate, Styles and Michelle led the river clean up last week, and Erica has been working with Parks and Rec on the Albany Median Planting... should expect movement before the end of February .......Safety & Security - Will be led by our neighborhood watch reps, more to follow ........Social Committee - Bryanna and Leah have volunteered ........Neighborhood Partnerships - Seeking Volunteers (Rome Yard, everything heights, etc.) ........Communication Committee - Chris volunteered (thinking about an outbound only opt-in mass text option)?
Update to Bylaws: We are drafting an update to the bylaws, mostly minor changes about elections, term limits, etc. Will post them once adopted.
2022 Annual Report Filing: Our wonderful Treasurer Lee is supporting that annual requirement with the state.
Rome Yard: The last virtual community meeting was last month, standing by to see what the next steps are. We have submitted some input on the look and feel as an association. Here's the latest video they put out if you haven't seen it: https://youtu.be/wSZ4SHk2N74
Neighborhood Parking Ordinance: We are conducting outreach to get the latest on the changes to parking laws in the neighborhood.
Please let us know if you have any input, comments, questions, etc!
